Portfolio Route

Full membership is offered for those with MSc's that were not MACP accredited with  2 plus years of experience, by following our tailored portfolio routes - the standard and accelerated routes.

Pre-requisites for both routes are provided in the figure below to the left.  An overview of requirements for each pathway are provided in the figure below to the right:

Standard Pathway

The standard pathway is suitable for early and mid-professional career musculoskeletal physiotherapists. In order to qualify for this route you must have at least 2 years post qualification clinical experience in musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

You will need to map your portfolio against the  IFOMPT standards document 2016. In addition you need to demonstrate evidence formal educational training, usually in the form of Master’s  level university modules, that encompass theoretical learning a minimum of 200 hours, practical skills a minimum of 150 hours and mentored clinical practice a minimum 150 hours.

To be accepted on the portfolio route, you will need to discuss your application with the Standard Pathway Lead. We can then offer you support for the application process and developing your portfolio effectively.  If you have any further questions please contact portfolioroute@macpweb.org

Discounts with education partners

We offer large discounts for portfolio route candidates with Trust Me Ed and Physio Matters - the resources are mapped to IFOMPT dimensions.

With Trust Me Ed you have 50% off an annual subscription, and with Physio Matters, a £50 discount not the annual fee.
