CSP SNOMED CT Consensus Event 8 June

22nd Apr 2015

Dear colleague.......

Thank you for your contribution to the CSP SNOMED CT Project so far. As you are aware the Society has been undertaking a project to develop a set of terms (SNOMED CT subsets) that can be used to populate electronic health records. This will help physiotherapists develop standardized recording systems facilitating service improvement, research and effective patient care through improved communication. The aim of the CSP SNOMED CT Project is to develop two or three SNOMED CT subsets and a roadmap for future work. The Project Team identified the most appropriate areas for development, by specialty and function, as well as exploring links to existing CSP strategic priorities. The areas for subset development that have been chosen are:

- Older people - hip fractures post-surgery

- Musculoskeletal (MSK) - back pain

We would like to invite you to participate in a consensus conference event on

Monday 8th June

Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, 14 Bedford Row, London WC1R 4ED

10.30am - 4pm close

Your participation in this event is crucial to the success of the overall project and the outcomes we aim to achieve. Getting the right subset of terminology that suits physiotherapists contributing to these pathways is essential. We are inviting you and a range of other colleagues across the acute, community and primary care sectors, the NHS and private and independent sectors. Invitations are being targeted to members of appropriate professional networks, those individuals who have contributed by forwarding anonymised health records allowing data retrieval and experts in the field.

Please could you indicate by return your intention to attend and availability. If you would like to suggest other colleagues to attend please also let us know.

Travel expenses for attending the event can be reimbursed using the attached form. Please return this to me to make your claim.

Kind regards

Sue Hayward-Giles MCSP

MACP Podcast

MACP Podcast.............

The MACP is very excited about it's next podcast which will be done by Matt Low and Uzo Ehiogu with Peter O Sullivan. This will be recorded in London in early March. We would like the members to generate some questions that you would like to ask Peter. We will select the top 5 and include that question in the podcast and also include who submitted the question. It would be great if you could submit a question to g.greene@coventry.ac.uk

The cut off date will be 1-3-2015. This podcast will then be accessed via the soon to be launched MACP sound cloud platform.

Many Thanks
