Latest MACP News

Calling all Progressive Physiotherapists! Be among the first to join the MACP through our NEW Portfolio route.

10th Jul 2017

The Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) would like to announce the re-introduction of the celebrated Portfolio Route to MACP membership. This route to membership will be open from 1st July 2017.

This route is particularly attractive to those:

- Chartered Physiotherapists who have successfully completed modules/units of study in a Higher Education Institution (HEI) which can be mapped against the learning outcomes of International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT).

- Chartered Physiotherapists who have successfully completed modules/units of study as part of an approved route to full MACP membership, but who may not have had the opportunity to undertake a period of clinical mentorship.

- Physiotherapists who were previously a member of an IFOMPT Member Organisation (MO), but are unable to join through reciprocal recognition

We can only accept a limited number of applications this quarter, So don't delay and register your interest today at administration@macpweb.org

Portfolio Route Leaders
You can informally contact one of the Route leaders to explore your interest in applying for the Portfolio Route and discuss your personal circumstances and/or register your interest by emailing administration@macpweb.org. Guidance in developing your portfolio is provided by the Portfolio Handbook and through Route leaders.

What makes up a portfolio of evidence for eligibility to full MACP Membership?

Evidence for your portfolio can be drawn from a variety of sources and should be mapped against the MACP criteria and the ten IFOMPT Dimensions details of which can be found in the Portfolio Handbook.

What will it cost?

For full registration on the Portfolio Route there is a registration payment of £250. The costs cover the assessment, feedback and return postage of the portfolio. If following the assessment the portfolio requires further revision, the resubmission may be subject to further costs. These costs are at the discretion of the Route Leaders
