MACP Social Media Officer, Aisling O'Malley

Aisling O'Malley

Aisling graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick, Ireland. She completed an MSc in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at King's College London in 2013, which gained her entry to the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). She is also a qualified DMA Clinical Pilates instructor with experience in both mat and equipment-based exercise.

She has worked in Singapore and London with a wide range of clients including: athletes, servicemen, performing artists, people with work-related injuries, chronic pain and post-operative patients. She has worked specifically with the Urdang Academy and the English National Ballet School.

Aisling's special areas of interest are lower limb injuries, spinal pain, pregnancy, women's health and chronic and complex problems. She enjoys working with endurance athletes, triathletes, climbers and those who are competing in multiple sports. She aims to work as part of a team with her clients, considering their individual characteristics to enable and empower them to achieve specific and meaningful goals. She uses a combination of treatments to help achieve this, including hands-on therapies, acupuncture, exercise, self-management and education.

Aisling enjoys participating in research and presented results of her Master's Thesis at the World Congress of Physical Therapists conference in Singapore in 2015.

In her free time Aisling enjoys keeping active. She plays tag rugby, goes running and practices Pilates and Yoga. She also enjoys eating out and travelling.
