Laura Finucane, Honorary Fellow of the MACP
Laura Finucane is a Consultant Physiotherapist specialising in spinal conditions. In 2002 she completed her masters degree in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy and became a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). She served on the MACP executive from 2006-2012. In 2012 she became a member of the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT) executive and in 2016 she was elected as Vice president. She is the education and training lead for advanced practitioners and physiotherapists ensuring clinicians maintain their competency and expertise to deliver the service for SMSKP.
She is affiliated to the University of Brighton and is an external examiner and clinical mentor for the master's course leading to membership of the MACP.
Laura's special interest is in serious pathologies of the spine and she has presented nationally and internationally on this subject. She has written a number of papers related to serious pathology and teaches at a postgraduate level.
