Dear physiotherapy colleague,
I am writing to invite you to take part in my MSc dissertation project. It is a qualitative research study, using one to one interviews. It will investigate the practices and techniques that musculoskeletal physiotherapists use to manage the risk of cauda equina syndrome in their lower back pain/and or sciatica patients. The study will also seek to investigate the underlying experiences and beliefs which inform the practices.
If you choose to take part, the interviews will take around an hour and will be held over Zoom. For further details about the study, for example, your rights and what happens to your data, please refer to the Participant Information Sheet here.
If you are happy to participate, or have further questions, then please contact me via e-mail or phone. If you wish to take part, then I will ask you to give consent by completing the Informed Consent Form available here.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Yours sincerely,
John Rice, Cardiff University
