I am an experienced clinical academic in musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy, with diverse experience across clinical, academic, education and quality agenda areas regionally and nationally.
I have been been specializing in MSK since 2004 and became an advanced MSK physiotherapist in 2007. I currently work as APP, Tier 2 MSK service at Manchester University Foundation NHS Trust. My academic record includes Professional Doctoral in Physiotherapy and MSc in Musculoskeletal Medicine. I have extensive post graduate training including injection therapy, NMP, CBT, pain management, and the CSP leadership programme. In 2024, I successfully completed the MACP accelerated portfolio programme, and became the first physiotherapist in the UK, and internationally, with a dual SOMM Fellowship and MACP Membership.
I have been actively involved in post graduate MSK education since 2009. I am currently Co-Lead of Portfolio Route, MACP, and Module Lead of the Injection Therapy, SOMM. I have a strong track record of conference presentations and publications. In 2023, I co-authored and published the 5th edition of ‘The Practical Approach to Musculoskeletal Medicine’, which is a seminal textbook in the field.
I am passionate about driving standards in improving and supporting MSK health and MSK education. I am currently Co-Chair of the UK MSK Partnership Group.
